At Castle Dental Care in Birmingham, we offer Enlighten teeth whitening to help our patients achieve a brighter, more confident smile. Our experienced team utilises safe and effective whitening techniques to remove stains and discoloration caused by factors such as aging, diet, and lifestyle habits.

Smiling Man

Take-home Enlighten teeth whitening treatment involves the use of custom-fitted trays and a professional-grade whitening gel. The process begins with an appointment at the practice, where we take impressions of your teeth to create custom trays that fit snugly over them. These trays are designed to hold the whitening gel in place and ensure even distribution.

Once the trays are ready, we provide you with the whitening gel and detailed instructions on how to use it at home. You will typically apply a small amount of the gel into each tray and then wear the trays over your teeth for a specified amount of time each day, usually for a couple of hours or overnight.

The whitening gel contains a safe concentration of hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide, which breaks down stains and discolouration on the tooth surface. The gel penetrates the enamel and oxidises the molecules that cause staining, resulting in a whiter appearance.

It is important to follow the instructions provided by our dental team to ensure safe and effective treatment. The duration of the treatment can vary depending on the level of discolouration and desired results. Typically, the treatment is continued daily for a week or two until the desired level of whitening is achieved.

During the treatment period, it's important to avoid consuming foods and beverages that can stain teeth, such as coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco products. Maintaining good oral hygiene practices, including regular brushing and flossing, is also important to maximize the results of the whitening treatment.
